Publisher Description
A New York designer is reunited with her estranged family in Arizona after her father’s murder in this novel of “romantic suspense at its wildest” (Cosmopolitan).
Manhattan fashion designer Lindsay Phillips isn’t surprised to hear her estranged father was beaten to death in a Las Vegas hotel room. A sordid end to a sordid life. What she knew about the reckless and philandering low-life wasn’t pretty—least of all the way he treated her dying mother. But what does surprise Lindsay is the anonymous letter she receives implicating her volatile half-sister Sybil in the murder. Under the guise of mourning, Lindsay follows the stranger’s advice and heads for Sybil’s home in Sedona.
Caught in a web of betrayal and lies, Lindsay will discover the truth about her mother’s death, her father’s murder, and her own haunted past. And as this strange and confusing new world closes in on her, she’ll have nothing, and no one, left to trust but her own instincts for survival.
Set against the backdrop of the colorful Southwest and Native American folklore, Edgar Award winner Phyllis A. Whitney’s Vermilion is perfect for fans of Tony Hillerman, Anne Hillerman, and Margaret Coel.
This ebook features an illustrated biography of Phyllis A. Whitney including rare images from the author’s estate.

Vermilion by Phyllis A. Whitney
I recommend this wonderfully written romantic suspense & mystery/thriller to all those drawn to the genre‼️👍. Most of Ms Whitney’s characters are known to one another when our heroine Lindsay, a successful NY fashion designer, receives an anonymous note that takes her to Sedona, Arizona! She wants to investigate her father’s murder, but has not wanted to see her sister Sybil or even Sybil’s husband Rick for fear her old feelings for him would resurface! Lindsay does want to meet you 9 year old niece Marilla however❣️👍🤗.
When she arrives she faces even more suspense & a renewed love for Rick, is introduced to their circle of friends, learns of her past & connections to the Hopi Native American tribe & its folklore as well as the beauty & sometimes frightening views of the surrounding Red Rock formations of Sedona. It’s a book with twists & turns & edge-of-your-seat non-stop action to discover who the killer is, so grab your copy & hope you give it the 5-star rating it deserves, as I did‼️👍🙏.

Phyllis A. Whitney - my favorite!
I have long waiting for her books to be in iTunes and I hope they release more. Phyllis Whitney has been my favorite author since I was in 8th grade. She wrote young adult fiction as well as adult fiction. These books so well written. I am thrilled to read these again.
