Not just your basic ship's log, this book presents interesting, scary and humorous stories from a woman's perspective, about an eleven-year 48,000 nautical mile adventure. The author and her husband traveled from San Diego to the Pacific Northwest, then Alaska, down to the Panama Canal, across the Caribbean, up the east coast, traversed the Atlantic, and from there to explore all the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, before turning around for home again. In their 52-foot powerboat they experienced the might of the ocean, wind, waves, and gales at sea, all the while enjoying nature's wonders. Fabulous sunsets and sunrises, to fascinating moon rises and starry nights, tying up in 40 countries, meeting the different people, tasting exotic foods, trying on bits of a new language--all as the adventure unfolded. Readers will be entertained, enlightened, educated and often amused as they also experience this once in a lifetime journey.

Interesting and informative
If you are thinking about doing something like this, which I am, this is a great reality check. It kept me wanting more details. It reads more like a ship's log than a novel. But it is a valuable insight into the cruising life. Thanks to the author for sharing the experience.
