One of the best examples of the genre
I’ve read many books in the romance genre in the past 5 or so years, and this is one of my favorites. Ms. Heath has written a compelling story with a lovely cast of characters. I think what distinguishes this book from others in the genre is how it displays the complexity and messiness of life while also being believable. I read it in short sprints, and it occupied my thoughts in between.
Very well written, great book
This book is pretty self-explanatory so the reader knows it will be heart wrenching. The author does an amazing job of bringing emotion into the book and making the reader feel the depth of feelings each character is going through. This is part of a series I assume so I will go back and read the others before this one.
The negative in this book is that the hero is an absolutely kind, generous and sweet man. The heroine is frankly mean and some parts were difficult to read when he was hurting and she was being self absorbed.
The author drops the ball at the end
The author drops the ball at the end..I thought the premise was going to be a problem for me, but as I read the story the reader begins to believe there is a reason why the husband wants her to do what she does. And well, not going to spoil it but she really married a manipulative SOB. The problem for me was the way it all is wrapped up. It seems this particular author struggles with tying up a story. I recently began reading her stories and it seems to be a pattern for her.
