She doesn’t believe in happily-ever-afters…
Summoned to Angel Point for her sister's bridal shower, U.S. Marshal Dakota James's plan is to make sure her sister doesn't make the same mistake their parents did. But her quick in-and-out mission gets derailed when Taylor won't listen and instead tries to introduce Dakota to every member of the single male population in Angel Point. One former marine in particular sets off life-changing fireworks that tempt her to reconsider her single status.
He wants to be more than friends...
Beckett Leland came to Angel Point to check on his cousin's widow and young boys and found a quiet, out-of-the-way town where he and his retired military dog, Tucker, could peacefully make the transition to civilian life. What he doesn't count on is running into a fiery, passionate woman who doesn’t believe that love and happy endings are possible. But he wants more than friendship from the marshal who has taken his heart into custody.
Can he convince her that true love is real and their happiness waits just around the corner?
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Lute's pleasant sequel to The Sheriff's Baby Bargain returns to the charming small town of Angel Point, Ore. Dakota James is on a forced leave of absence from the U.S. Marshals following an emotional meltdown. She takes the opportunity to travel to Angel Point for her sister Taylor's engagement party, determined to convince Taylor that she's making a mistake by getting married. There she meets Beckett Leland, whom she initially mistakes for Taylor's fianc , leading to confusion and anger when he immediately starts flirting with the wrong sister. Beckett, a former Marine flyboy, plans to start a business rehabilitating military dogs for civilian life. He asks Dakota for help looking at commercial properties around town and soon falls for her, but she doesn't believe in love or happy endings, having witnessed her parents' disastrous marriage. Then a sweet, elderly couple turns to Dakota and Beckett for assistance following an accident, and Dakota learns a lesson about lasting love. Trust and self-esteem issues form the emotional core of Lute's heartfelt love story, while a wonderful supporting cast adds color. This earnest romance is thoroughly enjoyable.

Nice
Lovely story with strong characters and a good storyline. I enjoyed Beckett and Dakota’s time together and how they sorted through things. I also enjoyed the reverse role Dakota had in the HEA in taking control of the asking.
Recovery and romance
Susan Lute’s second book, Wanted by the Marsha,, in the Angel Point Romance series runs the gamut of feelings: anger, misgivings, elations, delight, and most of all love...in all it’s myriad of forms. With all the characters from the first book making a repeat appearance, Beckett and Dakota’s HEA story nearly turned the pages itself.
Especially with the story centering around Veterans, human and animal like, the tone of the story was somber at times, but also buoyant in its view of recovery and the promise of a future of renewal. I’m looking forward to more stories set in Oregon’s small coastal town of Angel Point.
