Paranormal romance fans will make a meal of this story centered on a couple of more-than-human characters, but this exciting read will definitely convert newbies to the genre too. Conall MacLennan is a Scottish werewolf on a mission to kidnap and kill unbreakable superwoman Thea Quinn. In the process of bobbing and weaving around each other, these two adversaries take the concept of frenemies to steamy extremes. S. Young’s prose is sexy, violent, and sometimes darkly funny, and the action never lets up.

Intriguing paranormal story
The book got off to a slow start, but the pace soon picked up and I could not put it down. I’m not usually a fan of shifter books, but I really enjoyed this one. Thea has had a difficult life and is currently on the run. Conall is sent to find her. There are many secrets and lies and you don’t know who to trust. The story kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen.

Excellent, incredible emotional vulnerability and powerful thrills.
I’ve read tons of romances, shifter and otherwise, but this story is a category of its own. I was transported by the story, could hardly put it down until the end. Then I went straight to buy the second book.
CW for mentions of rape and attempted rape, explicit violence and sexual situations. No cliffhangers and HEA.

I could not put this book down!! The author weaves a stunning universe and tale - I’ve been waiting for a book series like this. A page turner among the best of them. This was also my first Samantha Young book - will definitely be reading more.
