Good
If you have read anything by Edgar Rice Burroughs hours, especially the “mars series, “you will know that his style is OK, though the books are very similar to one another. He likes to prolong the misery and pain, I dare say. But his writing is good. At least, in this book, John Carter was finally once again reunited with his love. Overall, I recommend
Riveting
I spent most of my allowance money on the Barsoom series back in late 1950s/early 1960s. These tales are just as good now in my 60s as they were when ten or 11 years old. Finding sources for free eBook editions is a challenge. This title is not, however, the finale as a previous reviewer stated. A word of caution for the younger (< 40 years old): Edgar Rice Burroughs was a man of his times.
He writes of love, honor, valor and trust in one's fellows. Yes, there is a heavy dose of stereotyping, but if one looks beyond the surface he handles racial issues in, for his times, in a quite enlightened manner. Bonding, trust and love crosses racial lines.
Excellent
Action packed and full of suspense. Highly recommend.
