Rebecca is a bright, hard-working teenager who’s just finished high school. Hard work has paid off; Reb was on a volleyball team that contended for the state championship and she nearly made class valedictorian.
The one thing she hasn’t done is get together with boys. At eighteen years of age, it already feels as if she’s behind the curve. On the first day of summer school at the local community college she basks in the glow of her new car and considers the possibilities of college life. With all that going on in her head she almost ruins her start by nearly running over a boy.
Alex is back on the West Coast after his freshman year at an eastern tech university. He’s had his first affair but it’s already over. He has to move on. He’s thinking about that girl, daydreaming on his way to summer session at the local community college. He almost moves on into the bumper of Rebecca’s car.
