In the days of the first colonies, when the stars are within mankind’s reach, the sun is rising over the prosperous state of Acadia and the total freedom it vows to preserve. But as it pushes farther into uncharted space, a dire threat to life and liberty emerges from the dark: one that conquers and slaughters not only the body, but the mind, and which the dangerous collectivism of the galactic Inner Rim has sanctioned with its endless excuses.
