Not the usual romance, better

A very enjoyable read. I liked the location and how this was a good page turner. I also liked how this was a teaching experience too. Thank you.

Water of Life

This was such an amazing story to end the series!! It was totally not what I was expecting from learning about Cara's past in previous books. Cara and Drake are so perfect for each other. I'm sad to see this come to an end, but I'm looking forward to the new series.

Beautifully Crafted Ending

There was a certain sadness in reading this story knowing it was the last in the series...it was like saying good bye to good friends, even family. This story is a fitting end to the series, the myriad of different characters making appearances, being part of the story...it was wonderfully tied up, but left slyly open, with the wording at the end of the story, for a new series, with all new characters, but still in the spirit spirit Ms Bramseth is known to write in.

Having read all the books in the series that led to this ninth one, the same uniqueness of character resided within the stories...through turmoil, character was recognized and brought to the forefront. The story, as those that came before it, built off the previous ending, capturing your attention, and emotions early on. The depth of Cara's suffering was so real that I could feel my heart break for her, then rejoice as she was finally rewarded with her joy so richly deserved. The same held true for Derek, his character had met with so much bleakness that it was fitting that his happiness was finally realized.

Ms Bramseth is a richly gifted storyteller, with her characters coming to life through her words. These characters will be missed, but hopefully will not be completely gone from the new series, Bourbonland, due out next year. I have no doubt I will fall hard for the new series, and its characters, I'm just that sure of this author's abilities to lead me to a whole new world outside of Bourbon Springs.

This book was provided by the author, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
