Jeb and his younger brother, Dave, are drifting apart.

When they were young it was easy to share secrets, pranks, and friendship; but during this drought-stricken summer new tensions are breaking into their old friendship. Jeb, a sports star and a good student, has learned to coexist with their domineering father. But Dave is still the prank-playing rebel, unable to compromise with what he sees as a hypocritical society and family.
