The SciFi short story, “Waypoint Five”, is by Ben Lees. In the plot which jumps back and forth, Lees initially drops the reader aboard the damaged Starfish class transport “Penelope Weaving”. Mana, co-captain of the “Penny”, awakens from cryo-sleep in the midst of retreating from a battle. But an earlier chance encounter could help in the war against the merciless Drift enemy.
