Funny, emotional... great read

I didn't know what to expect, from this ebook. I've read many travel journals over the years... and left pleasantly surprised. I've traveled quite a bit for my personal life, and for my professional life as a former CNN anchor and current anchor at the ABC affiliate in Washington DC. I was left laughing at times, on edge at others, and inspired in the end. I'd hope to be able to have an equally adventurous experience in the near future. But until then, I can live vicariously through the stories featured in Wayward

Great read

And was extra cool that I bumped into Tom on his journey. May the journey continue always wherever you are!

Raw and compelling.

Gates' writing is raw and real as he hops around the globe. His crisp prose and wry observations compel the reader forward, even when they make you squirm. There is something very appealing about the truths here about the human condition, cultural immersion, the ex-pat life, and country hopping. Even if you don't have wanderlust, this book will make you think about the world in a whole new way.
