The 1864 unabridged edition, featuring hundreds of beautifully detailed illustrations, is a massive expansion of Webster's highly regarded 1828 "An American Dictionary of the English Language." Sometimes called the Webster–Mahn edition, because it features revisions by Dr. C. A. F. Mahn, this edition of 1864 is nearly 2,000 pages in length, containing the vocabulary of the 1828 edition plus an additional 44,000 entries.
