Welcome to Grassland, Alabama – A town that’s ten minutes from the coast, but a world away from the glitzy tourism of Gulf Shores. A town that only has two red lights but a 6A High School with a top-ranked state championship football team. A town that is home to Georgia Cooper and Hayden Nichols.

Tough, talented, hard-hitting defensive back Hayden Nichols has grown up moving from one foster home to another. Strong, sexy, smart Georgia Cooper has basically raised herself and her younger brother. These two have everything in common, except one thing. Georgia can't wait to get out of Grassland, and Hayden's greatest fear has always been the idea of living anywhere else.

In love since childhood, everyone knows that Hayden and Georgia are inevitable. They've always been together and they plan to always be together, All of their dreams include each other. But all of Hayden's dreams happen in Grassland, and Georgia can't imagine being happy in the place that will always see Hayden as a former Gator star and her as his trailer-trash girlfriend.

And when tragedy finds this duo again, Georgia realizes that she can run from herself, but when it comes to her first love, there's no defense that can stop him.
