She’s a werewolf with a secret…
Luna Reynaud has finally found her place in the world, working at an elegant estate on an island in Puget Sound. None of the quirky Were staff members suspect she’s half human and she has to keep it that way. Weres and humans aren’t supposed to mate. But when the owner unexpectedly dies, Luna and her co-workers are in danger of losing their home.
As a teenager, Colin MacDowell spent carefree summers on his aunt’s island. Now that he’s laird of a powerful Scottish pack, he has no time to deal with the estate he inherited. He intends to sell it, but Luna convinces him she can turn it into a thriving werewolf hotel. He’s happy to grant her request, and even happier to share her bed. He never expected a funeral would lead him to his mate.
She’s everything he’s ever wanted. But her secret has the power to tear them apart…

Disappointed
Enjoyed the first book in the series….Werewolf in Manhattan….second one Werewolf in the Northwoods…slid into 50% sexual overtones (chapter after chapter)that really muted the over all story and ignored the wealth of solid foundation story line failing to expand the adventure and characters growth side….still finished it …started Werewolf in Seattle …..ugh! Disappointed. The constant use of “Y’all” was like nails on a chalk board! Talk about “Character” assassination…poor Luna.
I firmly believe someone bet the author as to how many times she could use “Y’all” in one book. Using search it was over 100 times about 5 times per chapter…and NOT grammatically correct (yes there is a grammar rule that is innate with Southerners)
I am Southern born and raised…the over use of Y’all is an affront and the gross over use or actually “misuse” of the term Y’all is appalling. Not to mention demeaning to the character Luna, as she comes off in the usage most times as an ignorant hick from some backwoods shanty instead of New Orleans. Luna is first portrayed, (then alternately adversely) as a strong, self supporting, intelligent, savvy, loving and hard working, if a bit naive to the ways of the Were folk then loses all intelligence of character because she is “half human”. Author absolutely dumbs her down to imbecile one minute then up to Life Survivalist and Inn Keeper extraordinaire the next!
Author should have done more research…such as …
While "y'all" is actually a contraction for "you all" and is therefore technically correct, it is most commonly used in place of the plural form of "you." More than “one” you.
The general scholarly consensus is that y'all's origin is actually Scottish. (Could have used that tie with this book, since the Were’s are an ancient species and Colin is Scottish!)
The hypothesized origins of “y'all” speak to the necessity of adding a second-person plural. While it could just be a contraction of “you all,” some evidence shows that it could also originate from the Scots-Irish ye aw, a Creolization from African slaves, or a combination of the two.
Couldn’t finish it…just grated on my nerves…too bad because the author has a good foundation for the characters and base story lines. She seems to have trouble fleshing out, rounding out, giving depth to the very established story arch and obviously willing array of support characters (as in previous in series) ….. just lazily (I know harsh but fits) defaults to same old route over and over and over again…sex scenes, dialog and banter for 75% of the 198 pages I read. Cloaked Cloning to turn out word count…Definitely not interested in the rest of the series or others by this author.
