WEST POINT EDUCATION USMA

His presidential appointment to West Point was approved.  St Thomas Military Acdemy had an honor junior ROTC  military designation. One of the STMA military staff, Major Melanson,  was a West Pointer from the class of 1948 and he encouraged Tom to apply to his alma mater. He sent favorable recommendations emphasizing Tom’s potential as a military leader.
