What is the American Spirit‪?‬

The spirit of America is an interesting topic to be presented and discussed in a book format but it is one that requires what it represents. Understanding how the spirit began, how it was impacted both positively and negatively is important. Individuals may not even realize that they are experiencing this feeling in their daily lives. It is about actions and decisions not only as individuals but as organizations and government at all levels.
Our country has been through many things throughout our history but the one thing that has held our country together especially in hard times is the spirit we have as a country. This book is about presenting information about this spirit and how it has remained in existence.
This book is about examining the spirit of America to bring about a better understanding of what it really means, when it began and how it was impacted from the beginning of our country to what we see today. Understanding the spirit of America is not a difficult task to achieve yet many who may read this book will understand how it began and what events influenced or exhibited this spirit. Individuals who came to this country had hopes of creating a better life for themselves and their families. Some may feel the spirit which began in our country does not now exist or at least in the format of our forefathers. This is what this book is about. It is a compilation of the events before our country was a country and the development of a spirit which is in existence today though in some cases it appears to be almost nonexistent. The content in the various chapters are important aspects of our country and this book is being written to identify and possibly have a resurgence of the spirit that began when our country first started. It appears there is a new resurgence of the spirit that has made our country what it is today.
The spirit of our forefathers are examples which we need to embrace today though the world has changed we need to keep the spirit alive and well. The spirit of a country is part of the events which take place within their borders but can be exhibited in the decisions made not only by individuals in charge but by individuals who are citizens. Spirit in many respects is a feeling but that feeling can be evidenced through the actions of individuals and the country as a whole. The various subjects of the chapters in this book will provide information as to how each is either related to this spirit or how it impacted its existence.
Today we need the spirit of America now more than ever. We are facing many issues that were not even imagined by our forefathers but face them we must. The spirit that the first settlers exhibited is what we need today but the issues we are facing need a different approach than in the past. It is hoped that this book will help increase the resurgence that now appears to be growing and what we can do as individuals to keep it expanding in our daily lives.
