Changed my life
Oh suffering....why are we so afraid of it. This book has given me all the understanding and peace I was looking for. Please please please read this. The biggest revelation this book has given me is that God indeed is aware and involved in my suffering!!! It is NOT because this is a broken world and oh well just look forward to Heaven....but HE wants to use my suffering in my everyday life! There is purpose! There is a reason to live on this earth with intent and revelation!
A Solid Theological Look at Suffering
I purchased this book and A Step Further 2.5 years ago for my wife's 34th birthday. These books are not exactly what you call fun books, but I felt they were appropriate gifts considering what we were dealing with at the time. I did not enjoy this book as much as A Step Further, but comparing these books is like comparing apples to oranges. This is more of a theological book that answers deep and thought-provoking questions such as: If God is loving, why is there suffering? What's the difference between permitting something and ordaining it? When bad things happen, who's behind them - God or the devil? Joni and Steve explore God's heart, His future hope for us, and the work it accomplishes in our lives today. I would recommend this Gold Medallion Award winner to anyone who wants answers to why life is full of hurt.
When God Weeps
The finest book on suffering I have ever read. Once you read this you don't need another. It's theologically strong and interesting and easy reading. It's a serious book on a difficult subject. Scripture references are excellent.
