This is the latest in a string of evangelical Christian books that tells us there is more to life, then reveals how to find it. Like others in the genre, the Ludys (When God Writes Your Love Story), who are full-time speakers, writers and musicians, first describe inauthentic Christianity, typified by those who excuse their sins or seek moral superiority over others. They then urge readers to leave all that behind in favor of extreme faith, the ultimate adventure, which requires losing faith in oneself and trusting God completely. Also true to formula, the book contains many anecdotes; unfortunately, most are too general to shed much light on the point at hand. Parts two and three stray somewhat from the norm, with practical suggestions for God seekers and a study guide for developing one's inner life. The Ludys emphasize confession of sin and offer a helpful list of questions for self-evaluation, but they fail to make explicit what constitutes sin. Nevertheless, seekers may benefit from the study guide, which recommends reading Christian biographies, setting goals in every area of life and developing good habits. In explaining its premise, this volume has little to offer; those looking for deeper faith would do well to skip to the practical sections.

Good book, but...
A coworker of mind recommended this book to me after I told her I was using an online dating service. I don’t regret buying this book. It has helped restore hope that God has set apart a future husband for me. It has also made me stop and evaluate the way I viewed relationships.
However, I think this book is written for a younger audience. As a woman in my 30’s, I had a hard time identifying with some of the scenarios in the book. I’m long out of college, and don’t refer to myself as a “girl.” While I got a lot out of this book, I think the wait (and the challenges/questions that come with it) is different for someone in their 30’s and older.
Excellent book
Excellent book. It reminded me of many truths…that men pursue and initiation, there is human manipulation in online dating, etc. It also reminded me I am a daughter of a King so I should wait patiently for my Prince Charming. God doesn’t have a medicre love story for my life. All of God's daughters deserve a masculine man who submits to God. This book also covered the sad reality that man woman are agressive, impatient, etc. When that happens, this unfortunately can cause gender roles to be reversed setting up for a DISASTER contrary to the way God designed for things to be. I also learned about a great reminder- that when sexual compromise has happened it’s a good time for both people to pursue God and He will either bring the relationship back together or dissolve it.
Amazing book!
God has truly inspired the authors of this book to truly surrender every part of your life to Him. This book has given me true wisdom and insight onto my own situation. I would recommend this to any young adult Christian in a relationship, having had past relationships or interested in pursuing a relationship.
