Was great until...
The last couple of chapters he completely betrays his readers by trying to justify "the M word," as he puts it. It became evident at this point that I was reading a book written by a man who has not yet overcome these struggles himself.
Dear Mr. Perkins: if your wife caught you doing "the M word," how would that make her feel? Would you respond by saying "it's okay honey, I'm not lusting!" You argue that since "the M word" isn't mentioned in the Bible it doesn't specifically address the issue. By that logic, do you also not believe in the Trinity?
I do not recommend this book solely due to the compromises he makes in the last couple of chapters.
