When I Trust You

If guys want to be with guys, fine. I just don't want to see any gay stuff, or be around it. 

That's not homophobia, is it?

Derek is my roommate, so we're stuck together-

We don't have to be friends, but we have to get along.

And he's not "gay," supposedly. He's "bi." 

But that doesn't make me any more comfortable.

I don't like Derek's vapid pop music, and he doesn't like the blast beats and death growls of my metal.

But somehow I can't stop thinking of that morning he stepped out of our sweatbox shower-

My pastor back home taught that homosexuality was a sin-

In high school sex-ed they said bisexuality was a delusion-

But I've been figuring out there's a lot that I need to un-learn

And they say college is a time for trying new things...

But what if I'm scared of what I might learn? And what I might feel?
