It’s nearly impossible to be surrounded by love but not understand it. My parents, my sister, and just about everyone around us has no trouble accepting that love. To give your trust to someone else and believe they would die before hurting you. I’ve witnessed it—I’ve seen the power of it—but I’ve also seen the pain. Because for me, I’ve only loved someone I could never have, and my biggest fear is that by giving her my love, all I would do is ruin her. I should have tried harder, but I’m not sure I can because I only feel complete when I’m with her.
The only time I feel like I belong is when he’s near. His infectious smile warms me straight to my bones. Any insecurities I have vanish with just a wink from him. A sliver of his attention makes me feel invincible. But all it took was one drunken night of truths for me to lose everything I had begun to crave. Now, I’m not sure how to move on because I only feel complete when I’m with him.
He said I was too young. I said he was perfect. He said our families wouldn’t understand. I said we could weather any storm. He said he would ruin me. And he was right.

My Favorite Hope Town couple
With Drunk On You about to release, I decided to reread When I'm With You. I can't believe I didn't write a review of this before now. Nate and Ember's story is positively magical. Of course you throw Axel's son and Maddox's daughter together, you know sparks will fly. Even little Molly makes an appearance or two. Love the relationship she has with Nate. And out of the Hope Town books, I have to say Nate and Ember have got to be my favorite couple. These two together are swoon worthy. And I got a huge kick out of all the epilogues. My favorite book from this series so far. I can not wait to see what is next in this series.
This is Nate (Axel and Izzy’s son) and Ember’s (Maddox and Emmy’s daughter) story. They have known each other their entire lives. When Ember first professes her love Nate pushes her away because she is so young and they have a 6 year age difference. A while later Nate makes one big mistake and hurts Ember without knowing it. When he finally figures out why she has pulled so far away he realizes he can’t let her go and sets out to win her love back. Ember doesn’t want to be hurt again and she pushes to keep Nate away. She has a boyfriend in the beginning who she had already been planning to break up with, because she really feels nothing for him. They had only been together a couple of months. Some drama ensues on their way to happily ever after. This book had four great epilogues and I think you should read Corps Security: The Series to have some background, but it isn’t necessary.
Love this series. I can't wait to read the next one & find out what the future hold for the rest of this family. Beautiful love story.
