 Adam and Eve were tempted from the outside. Since then however the tempter no longer dwells outside but rather on the inside of man. When the enemy is already inside there is no place of refuge but the cross of Christ, where the enemy can be flushed out. Do not give room to the enemy if you want the enemy expelled from the inside
