Publisher Description

From the author of How the World Moves: A revelatory new look at the hallowed, diverse, and threatened landscapes of the American Indian
For thousands of years , Native Americans have told stories about the powers of revered landscapes and sought spiritual direction at mysterious places in their homelands. In this important book, respected scholar and anthropologist Peter Nabokov writes of a wide range of sacred places in Native America. From the “high country” of California to Tennessee’s Tellico Valley, from the Black Hills of South Dakota to Rainbow Canyon in Arizona, each chapter delves into the relationship between Indian cultures and their environments and describes the myths and legends, practices, and rituals that sustained them.

Angelfoll ,

You sing my soul!!!

What Amy did with this story completely
Had me speechless.
Tamar and Lyrik, these two beautiful souls, will forever live in my heart. And trust me my heart felt every bit of their journey. emotionally heartbreaking, breathtakingly beautiful.
I cried big fat ugly tears.
I didn't cry because it was all sad, I cried because this book will give you so many feels you won't know what to do with them.
The words spoken, the actions taken, the story being told was just so perfectly written I couldn't help it, I felt it deep in my bones.
Lyrik is so much more than I ever anticipated he'd be. And Tamar will blow you away with her strength and courage.
These two helped eachother out of the darkness in such an unbelievable way.
There was no denying they were meant to be.
Your heart will break and then it will heal.
This by far is Amy's best work to date.
