Well written and an excellent history
Having spent 15 years living in Sitka, I first travelled to the north side of Chichagof where we saw our first sea otters just south of Glacier. Every few years they spread Southward until today they appear everywhere along the SE Alaskan coast. We are fortunate that they did not fall to extinction as the friendly sea cow did within a few decades after Stellar’s discovery.
