Kaitlyn Thomas grew up with a father who loved her and a mother who resented her. Her father became ill when she was sixteen and was put into a nursing home two years later. She spent the last six years taking care of his medical expenses while avoiding her mother's demands. For three years, she has been Tristan's executive assistant, a great job that provides the stability and routine she craves, allows her to pay her father's medical bills, and gives her the freedom to explore her love of baking. Tristan Knox was given the reins to Carolina Confections, the company his grandmother built from the ground up, six years ago.
