Middle of Somewhere: Book Three
Leo Ware may be young, but he knows what he wants. And what he wants is Will Highland. Snarky, sophisticated, fiercely opinionated Will Highland, who burst into Leo’s unremarkable life like a supernova… and then was gone just as quickly.
For the past miserable year, Leo hasn’t been able to stop thinking about the powerful connection he and Will shared. So, when Leo moves to New York for college, he sweeps back into Will’s life, hopeful that they can pick up where they left off. What begins as a unique friendship soon burns with chemistry they can’t deny… though Will certainly tries.
But Leo longs for more than friendship and hot sex. A romantic to his core, Leo wants passion, love, commitment—everything Will isn’t interested in giving. Will thinks romance is a cheesy fairy tale and love is overrated. He likes his space and he’s happy with things just the way they are, thank you very much. Or is he? Because as he and Leo get more and more tangled up in each other’s lives, Will begins to act like maybe love is something he could feel after all.

Taking a wish, a chance “ON A BOYFRIEND” … forever …DESTINY
Roan “PASSION” Parrish returns to Book 1, “In The Middle of Somewhere,” picking up, (thirty year old) DANIEL‘s and (thirty-six year old) REX’s expanding — their young friend LEO’s story, seventeen … going on eighteen … skateboard gay-kiddo, ripe for romance in a casual moment, LEO WARE, who has a part time store-sales job, clerking, in ‘The Zoo’ book and music shop. LEO posses a ray of traits and passion that seem to be closest to contradicting his generations’ hope to become routine. One thing LEO isn’t - is a gay prince! Nor a flagrant gay princess! Deciding strategizing was in order. Showing up - “this is the real ME.” ha, ha, tricked YOU - defying tradition in order to be with the person he loves, to humanize his character, protecting his freedom to express who he is. This idea of being a catalyst to be forward, to speak out, stage independence for his own freedom. Something serene and settled about himself! Jarring DANIEL’s friendship and DANIEL’s relationship with REX is put into jeopardy..!!! …REX’s and DANIEL’s growing romantic relationship is an ‘interruption’ … occurring … when REX’s old fling — “HIS boyfriend and lover” … after REX’s and WILL HIGHLAND’s former two year long bound-relationship ended… is it over? BUT, coming back, NOW, disrupting REX’s and DANIEL’s lives - REX’s cute younger boy-toy DANIEL is threatened, jealous of handsome AND GORGEOUS twenty-six year old WILL HIGHLAND interrupting their lives, returning to Holiday, Michigan, to visit his sister and her two children, and his family. Questioning DANIEL, “maybe, REX wants WILL BACK IN HIS LIFE...? AGAIN...?” … Skateboard LEO’s brief encounter meeting GORGEOUS and HANDSOME — WILL HIGHLAND , a brief very memorable HOT kiss, is developed further in the third “Middle of Somewhere” trilogy: “Where We Left Off…” … Much can be made out of WILL’s dictorial rules, subtle confusion, that WILL HIGHLAND doesn’t believe that love actually exists. Bewildered SKATEBOARD LEO’s theory, “don’t forget to open your heart’s awareness for destiny …’dues ex machina’ … YOU CAN NOT STOP - what is meant to be … the universe wants US TOGETHER…” Roan Parrish’s draws the reader into her own romantic spider web, a purity of emotion and direction of action. “I want YOU ..SO, it’s like I AM LOOSING MY MIND…no one knows ‘like I’m loosing my mind’ over every thought of YOU” … a magical moment … spoiler alert … a true romantic gay experience … a coming of age personal story of very strong emotional feelings and arousals in confusion; an electrifying carnival midway between searching for independence, decisive in seeking mind game solutions. BUT, LEO’s and WILL’s … their story, is not yet over … but, being blunt isn’t the same thing as being honest. That doesn’t mean, just because WILL is okay with offending someone or telling someone a hard truth about themselves, that doesn’t mean, that WILL doesn’t get scared for himself for commitment. Nor does it mean he always volunteers truth about what he’s feeling. And sometimes he says things so strong to make it easier for himself. Like he asserts things differently really definitive in order to shut down conversations about topics he doesn’t want to think about! WILL - isn’t super human. WILL - is just as scared and uncertain as any of us. WILL HIGHLAND - just has different ways of dealing with it. Scared of relationships, that is why WILL - ended his commitment to REX! the novel’s ending … isn’t over …
I loved this whole series. This is the real thing. Real people who screw up and don’t know how to fix it. Real situations that mirror real life. Happy endings that are just a little ragged around the edges.
