Robin DiAngelo has worked as a diversity trainer for corporations for many years. Over time, she began to see patterns in how white people responded when asked to confront the issue of racism. In order to maintain our image of ourselves as good people, even the discussion of racism raises feelings of discomfort, defensiveness, and anger.
