Publisher Description
When the son of an infamous kidnapper gets abducted, nobody is safe.
Alex Mercer could use a break. But, as usual, he can't catch one. He's overburdened with best man duties, familial changes, and work obligations. The three responsibilities collide when his daughter's boyfriend is taken, his best friend is targeted, and officers and agents go missing. He knows there must be a link, but he's the only common denominator—a fact that doesn't bode well for job security. Or his loved ones' safety.
On top of all that, another teen is missing, and Alex lands the case. But this time, the kid is a suspect in a double homicide. He's on the run, and the cops have no leads.
One little town shouldn't have so many big problems. Alex is in the middle of all of them, and he's running out of time…

Mercer Crime Thriller!!
Always fast-paced and always edge-of-your-seat thrills! In this tenth installment, there begs the question... can Alex Mercer or Nick Fleshmen ever catch a break? Captain Nick and fiancee Genevieve certainly thought so; unfortunately, *cough* Stacy Claflin *cough* had other plans!
This series never fails to amaze me, nor does the author! Each new addition brings about a further depth and connection to its characters. Few books can grip you every time, but that's just what the Alex Mercer Thriller Series does - embraces you with every personality and every book! I much enjoyed the many different viewpoints, with Alex Mercer's POV front and center. The inner thoughts and character dialogue flowed well with one another, allowing emotion to seep through just enough to get the ideas across without dragging out unnecessarily. This type of writing tends to invite the reader into the family, so to speak. I was right there with Alex, Zoey, Ari, Damon, Nick, and Genevieve. I was fearful as Damon was taken and worried while Ari tried to come to terms with her missing boyfriend and her dad's dangerous profession. Anxiety-ridden, like all of the adults, wanting to hold it together and protect their families. Last, but by no means least, I was relieved as our story wrapped up and eagerly anticipating number eleven! What can possibly go wrong next time? Another kidnapping? Hopefully not!
I would recommend this book to anyone with a sweet-tooth for effortlessly engrossing crime thrillers that you'll want to race through at every given opportunity and, of course, to fans of Stacy Claflin's Alex Mercer Thriller Series! I'd like to take a moment and send a great big thank you to the author, Stacy Claflin, for providing me with an advanced reader copy of this title in exchange for my honest review. I look forward to finding out what happens next!
