The protagonists share an easy intimacy, which is deftly illustrated by the running jokes woven throughout. D'Alessandro's tale falters in pacing when Philip begins to take himself too seriously, but this doesn't detract much from the book's overall charm. Trotting at the heels of Julia Quinn and catching up fast, D'Alessandro should win new fans with her exuberant offering.

Who Will Take This Man? Oceanrosebud
This novel falls in the "category" of exciting plot and well defined characters! The mystery of The Stone of Tears has cursed Philip since he had read it. Now he doesn't want to get married. Meredith is the matchmaker trying to find him a wife. This was a great read with twists throughout and two wonderful people you hope will find the answer.

This is probably the third book by this author I've read, and while I truly enjoy her writing, I HAVE TO SAY, the Publishing House, does an APPALLING JOB OF EDITING!
I'm more than halfway through this book only to find THIS BOOK AS WELL AS THE OTHER TWO I'VE READ are FULL of typos and spelling errors! Seriously I'm surprised no one has mentioned this! I find it EXTREMELY distracting to have to continually mentally correct the word, or fill in the correct word or spelling of the one printed!
I know they have people employed at publishing houses to PROOF READ the author's books! I would hope someone at the agency involved, would READ this review and LOOK to see WHO the Proof Reader was and determine if they in fact were the SAME PERSON on all other books. Or, if said Proof Reading is done by a software program, the agency should seek ANOTHER program!
I enjoy reading historical novels a GREAT DEAL.
