Why They Come Back‪?‬

2005, Digger 's Cove, Sheriff Russ Anderson has a two problems. Someone has been shot and one of his deputies has vanished.  As he tries to juggle both cases more complications arise. He finds out he really didn't know the missing deputy and his small town has a lot of secrets.

2020, Digger's Cove, New York businesswoman  Abby Anderson comes home to take care of her sick father.  During this time she takes over his duties as sheriff.  After her father passes away, she is elected sheriff by a write in campaign.  Abby agrees to stay with the understanding she will be leaving.  She has to deal with deputy who expected to be elected sheriff,  shooting case her father could never close and her reluctance to move on.

2025, Digger's Cove, Abby is still sheriff and happily living with Merry Jo.  What starts out as a stupid crime turns into something worse.  Abby gets distracted by the fast the high school 20th high school is coming up. That means the four suspects in an unsolved case might be coming back to the town.  Since the whole town thinks they are guilty. There is no reason to come back especially since they all now had successful lives.  Abby doesn't know all four are being blackmailed to come back.  If they do come back. She has no choice but to reopen the case her father couldn't solve.
