4-4.5 Stars! Cute, quick read! I really enjoyed reading this one. This was the first book in the ‘Scandalous Brides’ series and can be read as a standalone. This was my first time reading this author but I’ll definitely be checking out her other works. The beginning is a bit unbelievable but maybe women really did stuff like this way back then, who knows. Desperate times and all that. I loved the main characters, Amity & Roman, they were easily lovable and I was rooting for them to get their HEA ending. The ‘sexy times’ scenes were the perfect amount of heat and details, in my opinion. Truly enjoyed this book and definitely recommend checking it out.

More sex than needed
The second half of the book was predictable. I skipped a lot of sex fill-in stuff. It didn’t advance the story.
Revenge, Ruin, Romance
He wants revenge on her brother. Amity wants out of an unsavory arranged marriage. Ruin is her answer, and Roman is the means. Amity and Roman meant to spend a brief time in a dark closet and accomplish her ruination, then they would go their separate ways. That would work if they could stop thinking about each other. The first book in the Scandalous Brides series is fast paced, steamy, and quite entertaining. There is humor, passion, revenge, a horrible brother (the villain), romance, a wonderful couple, a scheming cousin (in a good way), and a happy ending. An enjoyable story and a great start for the series.
