Took me a while to get into it, but when I did it was hard to put down. Appreciated a look into history I was previously barely aware of.
A wartime story of love and loss.
How beautiful it is to read about the joy of finding one’s soulmate. In wartime, like other times, it’s never really a simple process. This book really brings forth the emotions that all involved feel during such periods.

Ok but
Ok but the female main character was portrayed as intelligent yet rather silly and insipid. Otherwise an ok read. Definitely won’t keep a reader awake anticipating “What’s next..”.. Almost gave up reading it several times out of irritation regarding the main female character ..
