Wine Toasts for Lovers

Lively, fun, sexy, humorous, and informative all come to mind when I think about describing Ken’s new book. The book is loaded with ideas and information for anyone involved in engraving wine bottles as a hobby or as a profession. Ken also explains how his clever little messages can be used by those who are not engravers. When I originally read the description of Ken’s new book I really didn’t think it would be something I would buy. I’ll just say that I’m really glad I took a second look. I really like the wine facts and the engraved bottles along with the engraving information. The pictures are of excellent quality. The book is great and the price is a bargain. I bought "Wine Toasts for Lovers" as soon as I heard about it. While I am familiar with some of Ken Brown's writings, I was eager to read his collection of love poems. This book does not disappoint!
Ken, a self proclaimed "Man of Letters", has written & published an e-book, with his poems & toasts, which he has used over the years. Ken is a personal friend, so of course I bought it, & spent the next few hours reading it, cover to cover! The smile never left my face! Some are a little racy, most a tad saucy, but all endearing for that special someone! As a decorative artist, I sometimes struggle to find just the right words to fit my work, & now Ken has made it a bit easier for me. Ken offers the reader insights, & back stories letting you in on the secrets of his inspiration.

I am sure you will find it as much fun & as helpful as I did. And if you have not entered the world if e-books, this is a perfect opportunity to try it!

Disclaimer: As a friend of the author since the days we worked together at WFAA-TV in Dallas, this review can hardly be considered unbiased. However, if "Toasts" were not funny, clever, sexy, provocative--and worth fifteen bucks, I would simply say that the book is "nice" (and quietly see if ITunes offers refunds :-) I'm happy to report that Ken's book is NOT "nice". It's great. One can claim with absolute certainly that this is the most visually-arresting book of poetry ever published by a moonlighting rhyme wrangler whose day job as a Master Calligrapher often involves amazing engraving with a dental drill.

Ken's unique combination of talents for writing, wine exploration, and lovely, precise calligraphic engraving makes for a perfect, one-of-a-kind iBook gift. At least "Volume One" of WINE TOAST FOR LOVERS is one-of-a-kind until Ken peddles enough of these to fund his research for "Volume Two" amid other wine-growing and wine-loving countries in the world.

This collection may inspire YOUR next public toast, private note, or intimate aside. I for one plan to steal several of his toasts and accept accolades without attribution. Highly recommended.
