A girl with a dark history…

Iris Breslin took a leap of faith when she changed her name. As Avery Patterson, she is no longer the daughter of a serial killer. No longer the girl who was bullied and abused through high school. A fresh name and a fresh start at Columbia University means Avery can leave all that behind. There’s only one thing marring her dream of a clean slate….

A boy with a past of his own…

Luke Reid has a lot going for him: sex appeal, badass tattoos and insane musical talent. Despite his guitar skills, his calling in life has always been to serve and protect. A NYPD cop by day, singer in rock band D.M.F by night, from the outside Luke seems like he’s got it made. But falling hard for a girl whose father was accused of deeply sinister acts—a man whom Luke shares a devastating history with, himself—only serves to complicated things.

Pieces of a puzzle….

Four symbols, four methods of destruction.

A trade.

Borrowed wings.

Dark secrets that threaten to destroy.

Review: Four Seasons #1: Winter

Michelle's Review

Frankie Rose book “Winter” is full of plot twists, and hidden secrets.

This book has such a sad premise, how anyone can live with the stigma of a family member accused of any crime, especially murder.

I felt bad for Avery, changing her name and leaving her home town could not keep her away from her past. Luckily she had Luke.

I really liked the main characters they are both full of passion and love. As much as Avery tries to deny she loves Luke he will not let her go, until she faces her feelings for him.

When they do connect it’s uncontrolled and intense.

Although a little slow to start, the pace picks up and I enjoyed the many unexpected twists and turns.

This is a good story to remind us how words can hurt but love can heal.

Lisa's Addition:

This book was INTENSE. It was emotional, it kept you wondering and right on the edge of not quite knowing who to trust, it was an emotional ride with many twists that were not expected and an ending I am thoroughly satisfied with Happily Ever After for now. Definitely Glad there will be more coming down the line.

I frequently got frustrated with Avery throughout this book because, thanks to Luke's POV, I wished she'd trusted him more. I love dual POV's in books but I always find myself commenting that I'm mad at one character or another because I can see a more complete picture of what is going on than they can and it's frustrating. But if you can get me into a book deep enough that I'm yelling at the characters, chances are it's a great book.
