Wish

FREE! Wish – short story. Two women meet over recycling woes, roll into an impromptu thank you drink that goes a little sideways – which, of course calls for an apology drink. The apologee accepts to be nice, neighborly, but is feeling gun shy about spending much time with her cute, straight neighbor – fall for her favorite kind of unrequited mistake. Flirty, fun, slice of city life - with a few emotions and people problems like identity, sprinkled in.

Sample:
I nod, toast, start to think I should scoot soon. She is becoming more attractive by the hour, and I am sometimes stupid enough to chase straight girls with good stories - especially with beer-based confidence fueling my foolishness. This is nearly always a bad idea, made only worse by the adorableness being my neighbor! I am just about to make my excuses, offer to walk home with her if she’s ready, when she orders Imperial Stout for us. Ok, one more.
