Witch Tales

Mike had just gotten his discharge from the Navy. DD214 in hand he headed back towards the Midwest with the simple dreams of civilian life, not living in a coffin rack, and maybe even having a steady love life. But first, he needed a job. Any job, just one to get him settled in an area.

Being a farmhand was just about what he needed. Time with his hands spent in the soil to help him disengage from years at sea. The owner was a little kooky, or at least she didn't fit the bill as a normal resident of the area. The locals forums were full of comments curious or suspecting her of being pagan, but usually ended that they enjoyed her produce and found her well enough liked.

What Mike didn't know was the longer he stayed at the farm, the more of the world around him, and of himself, he would discover. Perhaps his coming here wasn't entirely by choice after all, not that he'd have it any other way.
