Now Fern must weigh protecting her friend with the dark price of witchcraft that might destroy her. The fantastical horror elements are uncharacteristically few and the pace occasionally drags, but Hendrix perfectly captures the girls' youth and loss of innocence, as well as the power of their friendships. This is sure to be another hit for Hendrix.

Ya Won’t Regret It
I’m continuously pleased with this author’s work; the way he’s able to write female stories so convincingly and accurately always continues to amaze me.
I don’t know how he’s so able to capture the fear and uncertainty of teenage motherhood, the rage of being female in a world that constantly undermines, oppresses and harms us, the way he’s able to intertwine the supernatural into these very real experiences…
This was a treat to read as was the Souther Bookclub’s Guide to Killing Vampires. I look forward to his other works!
Ending great, first half boring
The first half of the book was so slow and boring I put it down and read a different one. When I came back the last half of the book was awesome. If you can force yourself to get 60% in then it’s worth it to finish it out

This was my first read in a while. Im very picky on the genre and authors I read from, but with this story I was constantly surprised and locked into it. From the way the story is told, to showing how life for women has been from the beginning I can say that this will definitely be something I read again. Not only was it right up my witchy alley but connecting to the issues woman & girls have faced and continuing to face as a female gender really brings to life how all it takes is a little knowledge and understanding to really grasp the reality put upon us women. I would definitely recommend this book for a good read, it had me on the edge of my seat constantly!
