Reconnecting with her brother's best friend brings bittersweet memories for an empath witch.
Since the loss of her brother, Hayley has thrown herself into her work in the medical bay of Purple Oasis, using her skills as an empath witch to help those who have been hurt. But when her brother's best friend shows up, her emotions are pulled to the surface, and it's all she can do not to let them consume her.
Brandon has been looking for his best friend ever since the world ended, only to find his sister instead. With his magic threatening to unleash havoc, he turns to the only person who can understand what he's going through, forging a connection between them that he didn't expect.
Is grief the only thing that unites the two of them, or is there something deeper lying beneath it?

Purple Oasis Book 4 is Hayley & Brandon
A fantastic series that is young adult and clean content in a post-apocalyptic world. Each story is its own story and do not necessarily need to be read in order; however the book ends with a segue to the next book. We read about Hayley in Reese & Annabelle’s story (book 3); while it provides a segue into the next story, we get the full feelings of loss and grief. A great male/female romance that touches on the heart.

One of the best books in this series
Haley and Brandon connect in a number of ways in this story. They knew each other before the apocalypse...he was Hayley’s brother’s best friend. They connect over their shared grief for John, her brother, and over the fact that they are both empathy witches. This is still a short read, but with a lot of deep emotions and feeling.

Hayley and Brandon
I enjoy this series because it doesn't shy away from everyday reality in the post-apocalyptic world. Hayden's lost her brother; his best friend, Brandon comes looking.
Memory can create new bonds between friends or those who know the same loved one. With Hayley and Brandon, will their shared grief not only unite these two empathy witches but lead them to love?
Both Hayley and Brandon have deep emotional journeys. Some of it is traveled jointly, but a large part is what happens to these two individuals when they are building lives without someone who meant the world to each of them. The serious topics are not glossed over, but are made more clear in this book.
The romance is solid, characters from other parts of the series are present, and it makes me eager to see what comes next.
I recommend this for those who love a strong paranormal romance that is as much about healing as it is about love.
