“There was no place she’d rather be.”
I read the original version of this book years ago and really enjoyed it. So much so that after I read it I bought the rest of the books in the series. I was relatively new to BDSM romances at the time and enjoyed watching Julia and Marcus develop and grow their beautiful relationship. As much as I loved it, though, there were a few things that never felt exactly right. Marcus always felt a bit emotionally detached and I sometimes got frustrated with Julia’s stubborn determination to not truly give him a chance. I also always felt that their relationship progressed too quickly, in part because it skipped over the six month period where they supposedly grew to know each other. It made everything after that seem quick and sudden.
It’s almost like Sierra read my mind. Despite the claim that this tenth anniversary version just has a few new scenes, there are way more differences that that. The entire book has been revised in many different ways. Everything is better, the characters, the way they act and think. It’s like With this Collar 2.0 and it’s pretty much perfect now. I’m completely blown away and now giddy with anticipation over what she will do with the rest of the series.
This book is a fantastic choice for anyone, even someone new to the genre. It’s beautiful, emotional, romantic and I promise you will fall in love with Marcus and Julia’s story. What a wonderful gift Sierra has given us all!
Loved It 10 Years Ago, Love It More Now
Julia goes to her friend's wedding, coloring ceremony and though shocked by what she sees finds herself attracted to Master Marcus, a Dom that keeps her from disrupting the ceremony. They are intrigued and attracted to each other and begin a slow dance to act on these attractions. Both Julia and Marcus are well written, interesting characters with depth and passion. The book is well paced, full of steam, drama, and more. Loved this book 10 years ago and with the new material, love it more now!! This book made me a huge fan of Sierra Cartwright. Great book, awesome series.
