Witness to the Persecution

War avulses the mind and rends the soul until all that is left is the cannibalized remains of that which used to be. When you live in a state of war, your mind can only take so much inhumanity before it fractures. Dreams become "might"mares, and nightmares haunt; hope is lost, and humanity is wrested from your soul. Trying to overcome PTSD is another war in and of itself; only it is fought in the fractured mind, deep within a dark forest of sin, pain, and fear that all that was taken will never be returned. These are my battles.
