The second installment in bestselling author Kathryn Lasky's staggering WOLVES OF THE BEYOND series, a spinoff of the legendary Guardians of Ga'Hoole books.
The wolf pup Faolan was born with a twisted paw, a slight defect that caused his wolf clan to abandon him in the forest to die. But Faolan, with the help of the grizzly bear who raised him as her own, survived.
Now he's made it back to his clan as a gnaw wolf, the lowest ranking pack member. And the hardships are just beginning. Another gnaw wolf, Heep, is jealous of Faolan and sets him up for failure. As if these humiliations are not enough, Faolon is framed for the murder of a wolf pup. Faolan must catch the culprit in time and prove he deserves to be a full member of the clan.
This book is so awesome
Like the other books... no.
I did not think this book is at all entertaining or well-written. It has exactly the same plot as so many others: he starts to the bottom then rises to the top. Of course. How original.
The return to the guardians of the ga'hoole gives a different point of view to the land in these books. As a fan of the Warriors (by Erin Hunter) this series had a familiar ring to it but at the same time it is completely different. At times I can feel my heart pound or become angered like I am the character. Each ending of each book makes me want more of it! I recommend these books for kids 9 and above because of some of the made of words, complex situations, and the when they talked about the murder of the pup it could give nightmares to young kids. I love this series!! I highly recommend these books!
