U.S.-Beginners Beware
While this book provides a great overview of tools, certain techniques, and contains a nice collection of projects, it is not that beginner-friendly, and it is also metric-based.
Often, fancy power tools like band saws and a Festool Domino Joiner are used for techniques without an alternative shown for how to achieve the same results with more basic tools. Why not include how to make loose tenon joints with dominos using a plunge router?
Also, this is a UK book, which is not mentioned anywhere in the description. The publisher says US, too, so I had no way of knowing that lumber dimensions would be in metric. Yes, they provide measurements in inches, too, but the problem is that you can’t buy stock lumber anywhere near the thicknesses used. Again, not beginner-friendly.
