World History: From Prehistory to the Age of Enlightenment

This is designed to be an introductory online resource for students studying the dynamic world of history.  Following the structure of the New York State Grades 9-12 Social Studies Framework, this resource provides teachers and students a rich experience. 


From the early cultural beginnings of human existence around 100,000 BCE, to the the lofty ideals and accomplishments of the Enlightenment, teachers and students will note historical-fiction vignettes packed with meaningful historical context; fact-filled nonfiction reading passages: and numerous links for personal exploration.
