Worship

Worship content and styles need not be complicated or mysterious, leading to tension and disunity. When we understand how scripture defines worship, we easily avoid disagreements and misunderstandings.

Worship is like a building with
• a cornerstone
• a six-part foundation
• strong walls (conditions and activities labelled as worship in scripture)
• a roof (to link all aspects of worship)

We use one word, worship, to describe church music, but scripture uses nine additional words defined in this book.

This book's careful use of scripture moves the reader to become the true worshiper God seeks (John 4:23).
