It’s love. Trust me.
After a lifetime on the move, Ivy Snow is an expert in all things temporary—schools, friends, and way too many Mr. Wrongs. Now that she owns a successful taco truck in San Francisco and an apartment to call home, Ivy’s reinvented life is on solid ground. And she’s guarded against anything that can rock it. Like the realities of a past she’s worked hard to cover up. And especially Kel O’Donnell. Too hot not to set off alarms, he screams temporary. If only his whispers weren’t so delightfully naughty and irresistible.
Kel, an Idaho sheriff and ranch owner, is on vacay, but Ivy’s a spicy reason to give his short-term plans a second thought. Best of all, she’s a tonic for his untrusting heart, burned once and still in repair. But when Ivy’s past intrudes on a perfect romance, Kel fears that everything she’s told him has been a perfect lie. Now, if only Ivy’s willing to share, Kel will fight for a true love story.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Shalvis's faintly Christmassy eighth Heartbreaker Bay contemporary (following Playing for Keeps) comes complete with a light kiss of mystery, a healthy dose of romance, and the comfort of familiar characters. To say that Ivy Snow has issues with her family is an understatement. She's the daughter of an absentee father and lounge singer mother; her childhood was spent moving faster than she could settle in, usually dodging the police. Now she owns a food truck in the Cow Hollow district of San Francisco, and she's determined to put down roots. Kel O'Donnell is a cowboy cop from Idaho, visiting his family (and revisiting his youth) in San Francisco while on a mandated break from work. He's fighting nightmares until he meets Ivy. Her fiercely independent and prickly nature distracts him from his self-reflection and piques his chivalrous instincts. The development of non-romantic relationships alongside the romance adds delightful layers to a familiar tale, even if there's only a scant nod to the holiday festivities. Readers will enjoy this return to the small-town-in-the-big-city atmosphere that Shalvis has honed to perfection.

A heartfelt, read in one sitting romance
I was beyond excited to see that Kel was going to be featured in Wrapped Up in You. I remember him from the Animal Magnetism series and was so happy to hear he was going to be the main love interest in Wrapped Up in You.
I absolutely loved Ivy. She's bit of tough nut, continuously moving from place to place and never settling down, but you can tell that she wants to. The awesome people of Heartbreaker Bay are not letting her go easily. They encourage her to open up, to be a part of their family. Ivy, of course, resists whole lot, but they wear her down.
Ivy keeps a lot of things close to her chest and also has a tendency to lie about her family. On one hand, it's not cool, but on the other hand I get it. Ivy's family doesn't have the most stellar reputation and she doesn't want people to know about it. However, Ivy does come to the realization that they are true friends and won't judge her for it.
I loved Kel and Ivy together. Kel worked to push her boundaries and help her to see her true potential. He was a tad frustrating at time (what male isn't) but had a good heart.
My only issue with Wrapped Up in You is a small one. The plot involving Ivy's brother added to the story, but I felt like it got wrapped up super quick at the end, I wish there had been a little more there.
As always, Jill Shalvis comes through with a heartfelt book that was impossible to put down. A one sitting read for sure!
Great read
Love this series and this is on track with the others. Great read. Ivy and Kels are able to overcome their pasts and learn to trust each other. They have their ups and downs but their love overcomes in the end! So great!
Taco Truck for the win!
Wrapped Up In You is the latest installment in the Heartbreaker Bay series by Ms. Shalvis. Ivy has made her dream come true and owns her food truck, Taco Truck, outright and is close to finally being able to own her own home. The Taco Truck is a huge hit and business is booming for her. Kel is visiting his cousin Caleb after being injured on the job and first visits the Taco Truck when he is hungry but ends up meeting up with Ivy at the Taco Truck during a visit to one of the local pubs.
On one of the worst nights of Ivy's business life, Kel is the man that comes in to help her. Definitely not save the day since she can do that herself but this meeting ended up making Kel's visit to his cousin much more interesting.
Ivy had a difficult home life growing up and unfortunately it has come back to cause issues for her and Kel cannot resist taking his skill set and protecting what is now his. With the support of the who Heartbreaker Bay family and especially his cousin Caleb.
This is a great addition to the Heartbreaker Bay series that will keep you excited about the friends, really family, that all live there and whet your appetite for more. And really, any novel that begins with some butt- kicking (ok, kickboxing) at 6am in the morning can't be bad!
