So freaking funny
This story was so funny!!! I live these characters.
Pretty funny!
I really enjoyed this story—great illustrations, fun characters, and a clever setup with the raccoon wrecking crew. But there was one detail that left me scratching my head in a curious way: one of the “raccoons” was very clearly a penguin. It felt like a subtle, inside-joke moment, and I actually loved that little quirk.
However, the story never really acknowledged or explained it. Was it actually a disguised penguin? Just a funny visual gag? A metaphor I missed? It stood out enough that I kept waiting for a reveal or even just a wink to the reader—but it never came. I think it would’ve been even stronger if the character archetype of the penguin had been reconciled in some way with the rest of the raccoon crew.
Still, it’s a charming and creative book, and I’m curious if that character is part of a larger backstory or future series!
