Publisher Description
By writing his story in the second person singular, the narrator gathers together the scattered fragments of his first half-life. He deconstructs the crowd of characters he thought he was, wanted to be and sometimes wanted to seem, in chemical reaction to constantly renewed encounters and in response to his desperate need for inner coherence. You'll travel around the world several times over, have lots of unrequited love affairs, try to turn it all into literature or overcompensate with cutting-edge behavioral training. You'll be treated to a gallery of highly differentiated self-portraits and portraits, all characteristic of the late twentieth century - a carefree, prosperous oasis, blind to today's precipices. In this autobiographical mockery, the narrator reveals himself unfiltered and unmasked. He even invites you to swap roles. You will be me. He will be you, or rather you; a you in permanent reconstruction. Just like in real life.
At present, François Bocquet divides his time between Paris and Quebec, his four daughters and his many rabbits. He continues to follow the evolution of the training institute he created over thirty years ago. He explores and disseminates methods and tools for personal and cultural change. He is also the author of several impertinent works on the art of understanding people and accompanying them in coherence with their deepest selves, the invariants of their character and the sometimes buried logic of their destiny.
