Publisher Description
Realtor Hannah Thornton has many talents. Unfortunately, selling houses in the town where her family name is practically poison isn't one of them. When a business tycoon determines to raze historic homes in the small town of Heritage, Michigan, and replace them with a strip mall, Hannah resolves to stop him. She sets about helping Heritage win a restoration grant that will put the town back on the map--and hopefully finally repay the financial debt Hannah's mother caused the town. But at first no one supports her efforts--not even her best friend, Luke.
Luke Johnson may have grown up in Heritage, but as a foster kid he never truly felt as if he belonged. Now he has a chance to score a job as assistant fire chief and earn his place in the town. But when the interview process and Hannah's restoration project start unearthing things from his past, Luke must decide if belonging is worth the pain of being honest about who he is--and who he was.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Faris's enticing debut and launch of her Finding Heritage series features a small-town romance based on a shared love for restoration. Twenty-five year old Hannah Thornton is less than successful at her realtor job in Heritage, Mich., because she won't sell homes to buyers who refuse to keep the historical buildings intact. In an effort to restore the quaint but slowly deteriorating town, Hannah agrees to renovate an old manor in the center of town with the help of her best friend, Luke. Hannah knows there has always been a romantic undercurrent to their 20-year friendship, but the fear of getting hurt prevents her from admitting she loves him. Luke, orphaned as a boy and placed in foster care in Heritage, never felt like he belonged. Despite his friendship with Hannah, he buries his feelings. When renovating Luke's house, they discover a metal lockbox with paperwork that reveals that Luke's mother has a different name than he had always been told. Determined to help after Luke decides it isn't worth the effort to find his mother, Hannah secretly hires a PI to find the truth about Luke's family. Furious that she went behind his back, Luke leaves town, but being away from Hannah and her work restoring Heritage makes him realize he can't live without either. Featuring devout characters and an enjoyably languid pace, this pleasing outing will be perfect for fans of Karen Kingsbury.

Fabulous Debut!!!
WOW, what an amazing debut novel! After loving the prequel novella, P.S. Goodbye I was so looking forward to this book, and before I finished the first chapter I was totally and completely sucked in and knew I would love this novel! And love it I did! I absolutely adore the town of Heritage, I find myself wishing I could step through the pages and take up residence there! I ❤️ Otis!
I loved Hannah and Luke so much, I found myself relating to Hannah a lot and some of the things she learned and advice she was given felt like it was written just for me! And I absolutely loved Luke, he is totally book boyfriend material! My heart broke for all Luke had been through and I was cheering him on through the whole story.
Similar to many of Susan May Warren's books, You Belong With Me actually features four POV characters and two separate love stories, both of which are fully developed and equally enthralling, and I loved Thomas and Janie just as much as Luke and Hannah!
The faith story in this book was incredibly moving and soul-stirring, and it was beautifully woven into the fabric of this book!
In closing, I couldn't stop reading this book, loved every minute, and it put a huge smile on my face! You Belong With Me has earned a spot on my list of favorite reads of 2019! I loved everything about this book and highly HIGHLY recommend it, this is one you won't want to miss! Tari Faris has tremendous writing talent and is definitely an author to watch, I cannot wait to read anything and everything she writes next!
I am on the author's launch team and received an ARC copy of this book from the publisher. No review was required and all thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.
A sweet and inspirational story
You Belong With Me follows the story of siblings Hannah and Thomas Thornton, a sister and brother who struggle in their relationships due to wounds from their childhood. Hannah is a fixer, wanting to fix her struggling town, her friends, but mostly her best friend, Luke, whom she has loved since middle school. Luke, who also has wounds from his childhood, wants to be loved for just who he is, but he struggles to know exactly who he is and where he belongs since he has no family. Thomas is afraid of repeating the mistakes of his parents, but his fear may push Janie, the only girl he’s ever really loved, out of his life forever.
I enjoyed reading You Belong With Me. It was easy to get into the story and easy to like the characters. I thought the over-arching theme that God can take the bad that happens in our lives or our brokenness, and use it for good is something that everyone needs to hear and be reminded of. Overall, it was a good story and an enjoyable read that kept me wanting to find out what was going to happen next.
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was under no obligation to give a positive review, and all opinions expressed are my own.
