amazing
inspiring and totally uplifting
Maybe Not the Right Time
This collection is very heavy. It’s about abuse and rape, recovery and rebuilding. Maybe it’s just not a collection to read in the middle of COVID 19, but it just felt like it was weighing itself down in places. I have my issues with this collection. It seems, in a way, I fell out of love with Gill’s poetry with this collection.
I wasn’t pleased with the vibe of “you’re letting them do this to you, so just stop letting them.” I’m not a fan of telling people who are suffering that they’re doing it to themselves.
**If you have a problem with the ridiculous term “herstory” then avoid this book.**
